Safety is not a star rating. It is locks, neighbourhood, night arrival, and whether you would tell a friend to arrive at 23:40 with a keypad code. ## Airbnb vs Vrbo vs Booking Homes vs a hotel — which should you use?

Use Airbnb for unique stays and urban apartments you have vetted, Vrbo for whole homes aimed at groups, Booking.com Homes when you want OTA-style cancellation next to hotels, and a hotel when you want a front desk at midnight. Do not mix Strict Airbnb with a refundable hotel and call Airbnb cheaper.

Vrbo is the whole-home affiliate on this page (Expedia Group, alongside Hotels.com and Trivago). It is not “Airbnb with a different logo” — listing rules, fees and cancellation names differ. ## How do you use Airbnb well?

## Who owns Airbnb?
