## Should you compare points to basic economy cash?

Only if you would actually fly basic economy — same bags, same seat selection, same change rules. Awards often include a checked bag and standard seat assignment that basic cash lacks. Add those fees to the cash side or compare against main/economy instead.

Inflated CPP is the most common points blog trick: “$900 main cabin vs 60,000 points” while ignoring that cash basic was $380 with a $60 bag.
