# Where to stay in Amsterdam

Four Amsterdam hotels we have read the guest data on — a four-star Radisson by Sloterdijk, a three-star Levell in Zuidoost, a Noord hostel with social kit, and a Hampton by the Arena — with the complaints written as plainly as the praise.

## Verdict

Stay by Sloterdijk if train access and a four-star facility list matter; stay in Noord if hostel social life and a 9.25 location score suit you; stay on Arena Boulevard if concerts or football are the anchor; stay at Levell if you accept no POI rows and want a three-star with parking fees named upfront.

Two of the four properties carry POI rows. Park Inn puts Sloterdijk station at 0.7 km and Anne Frank House at 5 km; Hampton puts Johan Cruijff ArenA at 0.1 km and Bijlmer ArenA station at 0.2 km. Hotel Levell and ClinkNOORD have no POI rows in the ingest — we do not invent kilometre claims for those pins.

Guest scores cluster around 8 out of 10 with different weak spots. Park Inn and Hampton both post 8.4 from more than 17,000 reviews; Levell posts 8.3 from 20,000; ClinkNOORD posts 8 from 19,557 with the softest food and beverage category at 6.75. Cleanliness complaints appear at all four. We cite scale, count and date — never as structured data.

Nothing on this page quotes a nightly rate. We hold no live rates — the CTAs send you to Booking.com, Agoda, Trip.com or Vrbo. Those are partners; the links may earn commission.

## Which area of Amsterdam is best for a first visit?

Sloterdijk if train access and a four-star facility list matter; Noord if a hostel social base suits you; the Arena strip if concerts or football anchor the trip. None of these four is a canal-ring doorstep stay — Rijksmuseum sits 6.3–6.7 km from the hotels with POI rows we cite.

## Is Sloterdijk too far from the canal ring?

For a walk-everywhere canal week, yes — Anne Frank House is 5 km and Rijksmuseum 6.6 km from Park Inn on our hotel data provider’s figures. For train-and-metro access with Sloterdijk at 0.7 km, it is the cleaner map in this sample.

## Should I book Amsterdam hotels direct or through a booking site?

It varies by property and by date, which is why we never quote a nightly rate here. Check the partner link for your dates, then check the hotel’s own site before you confirm. Booking.com, Agoda, Trip.com and Vrbo are partners; those links may earn commission.

## Why do you show guest scores but never a star-rating snippet in search results?

Because the scores are not ours. Every review number on this site comes from a supplier’s aggregate captured on a dated snapshot. We show that score plainly as attributed visible text with the review count and as-of date — and we never emit it as structured data or imply it is a TravelShifu rating.

## Park Inn Sloterdijk or Hampton Arena Boulevard?

Park Inn if Sloterdijk station at 0.7 km and a four-star restaurant-and-fitness brief matter; Hampton if Johan Cruijff ArenA at 0.1 km is the anchor. Both post 8.4 out of 10 from more than 17,000 reviews. Full comparison: /hotels/amsterdam/compare/park-inn-by-radisson-amsterdam-city-west-vs-hampton-by-hilton-amsterdam-arena-boulevard. We have not stayed — this is a desk assessment from our hotel data provider’s dated guest analysis on the page.
