# Where to stay in Budapest

Four Budapest hotels we have read the guest data on — two Danubius spa properties on Margaret Island and in City Park, a central apartment block on Király utca, and a Pest-centre Danubius on Kossuth Lajos — with the complaints written as plainly as the praise.

## Verdict

Stay on Margaret Island if pools, spa and breakfast praise are the week; stay in City Park if Széchenyi and Heroes' Square are the product; stay on Király utca if central apartments and Deák Ferenc at 0.4 km win; stay at Astoria if Parliament at 1.2 km beats pool kit — and read the cleanliness cons first.

All four properties carry POI rows. Danubius Hotel Helia puts Margaret Island at 0.3 km and Árpád híd M3 metro at 0.4 km; Danubius Hotel Arena puts Puskás Aréna at 0.2 km, Heroes' Square at 1 km and Széchenyi at 1.1 km; 7Seasons puts Deák Ferenc tér at 0.4 km and the Great Synagogue at 0.5 km; Astoria puts the National Museum at 0.15 km and Parliament at 1.2 km.

Guest scores split spa geography from central practicality. Helia and 7Seasons both post 9 out of 10 — Helia from 16,000 reviews, 7Seasons from 13,952 — with cleaning and noise cons named at Helia and hard-bed complaints at 7Seasons. Arena posts 8.6 from 15,340; Astoria posts 8.4 from 13,126 with cleanliness and food quality named. We cite scale, count and date — never as structured data.

Nothing on this page quotes a nightly rate. We hold no live rates — the CTAs send you to Booking.com, Agoda, Trip.com or Vrbo. Those are partners; the links may earn commission.

## Which area of Budapest is best for a first visit?

Király utca or Astoria if Parliament, the synagogue and Deák Ferenc metro are the week; City Park if Széchenyi and Heroes' Square matter more; Margaret Island if spa pools and breakfast praise beat inner-city pins. None of these four is a Buda Castle doorstep stay — the castle sits 2.7–5 km out on our POI rows.

## Is City Park too far from the Danube and Parliament?

For Parliament-and-bridge mornings on foot, yes — Danubius Hotel Arena puts Parliament at 4.3 km and Buda Castle at 5 km on our hotel data provider's figures. For Széchenyi walks, Heroes' Square and Puskás Aréna at 0.2 km, it is the cleaner map.

## Should I book Budapest hotels direct or through a booking site?

It varies by property and by date, which is why we never quote a nightly rate here. Check the partner link for your dates, then check the hotel's own site before you confirm. Booking.com, Agoda, Trip.com and Vrbo are partners; those links may earn commission.

## Why do you show guest scores but never a star-rating snippet in search results?

Because the scores are not ours. Every review number on this site comes from a supplier's aggregate. We show the supplier score plainly, attributed and dated, and we never emit it as structured data. We have not stayed — this is a desk assessment from our hotel data provider’s dated guest analysis on the page.

## Danubius Hotel Helia or Danubius Hotel Arena for spa and pools?

Helia if Margaret Island at 0.3 km and the stronger amenities score matter; Arena if Széchenyi at 1.1 km and Heroes' Square at 1 km are the product.
