Four Palermo hotels we have read the guest data on — two by Teatro Massimo, two on Via Vittorio Emanuele in the historic centre — with the complaints written as plainly as the praise.

## Verdict

Stay by Teatro Massimo if Massimo, Quattro Canti and the cathedral walks are the week; stay on Via Vittorio Emanuele if you want the historic spine at a three- or four-star band and will tolerate dated rooms and noise.

Two of the four carry our hotel data provider point-of-interest distances in our seed: Grand Hotel Et Des Palmes puts Teatro Massimo at 0.1 km, Quattro Canti at 0.2 km and the cathedral at 0.8 km; Hotel Politeama puts Teatro Politeama at 0.05 km, Teatro Massimo at 0.33 km and Quattro Canti at 0.36 km. B&B Hotel Quattro Canti and Eurostars Centrale Palace have no POI rows — we judge them on address, facilities and guest scores, not invented walks.

Teatro Massimo and Via Roma if you want Quattro Canti and the opera house on measured walks — Grand Hotel puts Massimo at 0.1 km. Via Vittorio Emanuele if you want the historic spine at a lower band and will accept noise and dated-room complaints; we have no POI kilometres for B&B or Eurostars.
