# Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba

A five-star bayside hotel on Odaiba with a pool, a gym and rooms that are properly sized by Tokyo standards. The Rainbow Bridge is 1.3 km away; central Tokyo is a train ride.

## Verdict

The right Tokyo hotel for a family and the wrong one for a four-day sightseeing sprint — you are buying space, a pool and a bay view, and paying for it in train changes.

Room quality and cleanliness both score 9.5 out of 10 in our hotel data provider’s guest analysis, the highest pair on any of the four Tokyo properties here, and guests consistently praise clean rooms, helpful staff and a comfortable stay. In a city where "small rooms" is the default complaint, that matters.

The trade-off is named explicitly in the same analysis: "location far from attractions". Odaiba is reclaimed land in Tokyo Bay, connected by the Yurikamome monorail and the Rinkai line, and most central destinations involve a change. Tokyo Tower is 4.5 km away as the crow flies, Sensō-ji 9.8 km.

What is close is worth knowing: DiverCity Tokyo Plaza and its Unicorn Gundam statue at 0.9 km, the Rainbow Bridge at 1.3 km, teamLab Planets at 5 km. With small children, an afternoon that never leaves Odaiba is a real option — which is not true of a Shinjuku base.
