Four Venice hotels we have read the guest data on — a Grand Canal four-star in Santa Croce, a San Marco three-star with the softest scores, a budget guesthouse nearby, and an H10 on the Rialto with a 9.6 headline — with the complaints written as plainly as the praise.

## Verdict

Stay at H10 Palazzo Canova if Rialto at 0.1 km and a 9.6 headline justify the spend; stay at Carlton if Santa Lucia at 0.6 km and a four-star restaurant matter more than room age; stay at Casa Sant’Andrea for value with staff praise; skip Antico Panada unless San Marco proximity alone is worth a 7.1 headline.

Two of the four properties carry POI rows. Carlton puts Rialto at 1 km and Santa Lucia at 0.6 km; H10 puts Rialto at 0.1 km and Piazza San Marco at 0.6 km. Antico Panada and Casa Sant’Andrea have no POI rows in the ingest — we do not invent kilometre claims for those pins despite San Marco proximity named in guest prose.
