The walled centre and Carmo knot — cathedral lanes, Chapel of Bones, municipal museum and Ria Formosa on the edge. Both hotels we cover here carry POI distances to the old town under half a kilometre.

Trade-off: Parking is the recurring gripe — 3HB names parking costs as a con and AP Eva’s location summary mentions minor parking challenges. You are in the centre, not at the beach.
