The short version: TravelShifu sets no tracking cookies. We store your consent choice and display preferences in your browser\'s local storage — nothing else — and any future analytics would load only with your explicit consent, in line with UK PECR and UK GDPR.
What cookies and storage does TravelShifu use?
TravelShifu is intentionally light. The site itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage only for functional purposes: remembering your consent choice (the "ts-cookie-consent" key), language and currency preferences, and interface state such as dismissed banners. This data never leaves your device.
Strictly necessary storage
Items that are strictly necessary for the site to function — your consent record and display preferences — are exempt from prior-consent requirements under the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and equivalent EU rules, because the service cannot work as requested without them.
Analytics (future)
We do not currently run any analytics or measurement cookies. If we introduce privacy-respecting analytics in the future, they will load only after you choose "Accept" in the consent banner. Your stored choice will gate any such tags, and declining will continue to mean a completely tracker-free visit.
Third-party affiliate cookies
When you click an outbound partner link (marked "Ad"), the destination site — for example Booking.com or GetYourGuide — may set its own attribution cookies so the Travelpayouts network can credit the referral. These cookies are set by the partner domains after you leave TravelShifu and are governed by each partner's own cookie policy, not ours. We never receive the contents of those cookies.
How to manage or withdraw consent
You can withdraw or change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings (this removes the stored consent key, and the banner will reappear on your next visit). You can also block cookies globally via your browser; TravelShifu remains fully usable either way.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our use of cookies or similar technologies changes — particularly if analytics are introduced — and will show a revised "last updated" date. Material changes will also re-trigger the consent banner.
