The true cost of the airport-to-stay journey

Our next proposed study compares complete journeys, not isolated headline fares: airport access, waiting, tickets, last-mile travel and mandatory costs. The initial design covers Jakarta–Bandung and Bali airport transfers, with a consistent method that can be extended to other countries. No observations or “best/worst” ranking have been published for this study.

Journalists and prospective contributors can inspect the questions, sampling requirements and exclusions before data collection. Quotes will be labelled as quotes, completed journeys as observations, and editorial scores as opinions. The blank collection sheet is a template, not a dataset of actual travel.

How field reports become publishable

Private notes are not public reviews. An editor must establish permission to publish, distinguish direct observation from hearsay, check the observation date and relevant documents, remove personal data and disclose any free stay or payment. Material factual allegations about a named party require corroboration, appropriate editorial/legal review and consideration of a right of reply. A single experience cannot establish a systematic pattern.

We do not automatically publish uploaded complaints or generate star ratings from unverified submissions. Use My Trip’s private notes to organise an observation, or the corrections route to identify a specific factual error. Do not email passport scans, financial account details or another person’s private documents.

How this helps search and AI answers

Each source guide has descriptive headings, concise answer passages, detailed context and canonical section links. These help people locate and cite a passage. There is no special markup that guarantees a Google AI Overview, ChatGPT or Perplexity citation. Our reference for Google’s AI search guidance is its official documentation; our priorities remain accurate content, accessible HTML, internal discovery and clearly bounded claims.

Does the evidence ledger verify every TravelShifu guide?

No. The current ledger covers five Indonesia planning and rental guides and states what was checked, the check date and the limits of each review. The wider catalogue is not certified by those entries. Publication dates, source-link availability, first-hand experience and factual accuracy are different kinds of evidence. A live link does not prove the claim attached to it, and desk research is not a personal stay or journey. Use the original guide’s context and official sources before relying on time-sensitive booking or legal information.

Is the answer finder a generative AI travel assistant?

No. It searches a small collection of existing answer passages in your browser and reproduces matching editorial text with links back to its context. It does not invent responses, contact an AI provider, fetch live travel data or decide an individual legal question. Source links shown alongside a passage are references found in its original section; they support only the claims they address. If there is no supported match in the collection, the finder says so. Read the full guide rather than treating a search match as personalised advice.

Can journalists use the transport research downloads as findings?

Not yet. The airport-to-stay transport protocol describes a proposed study, and the collection CSV is blank. Neither file contains observations, measured performance or a ranking. They are supplied so the sample design, arithmetic and publication requirements can be inspected before collection. A future populated release would need dated observations, source records, permissions, an independent editorial check, limitations and a versioned correction history. Existing research is separately listed in the media centre and must be read under its own methodology and licence terms.
