These notes explain how each TravelShifu surface gathers evidence and dates facts. Site-wide rules on verdicts, desk assessments and corrections live in the editorial policy; this hub is the per-surface detail.

How to use these notes

Open the method page for the content type you are reading or auditing. Each page states what sources we accept, what a desk assessment means on that surface, what we refuse to invent, and how to send a correction. They are written for readers and for answer engines that need a quotable standard — not as a second legal policy.

Desk assessment versus first-party review

Most hotel, attraction and airline soft-product pages are desk assessments: named, dated sources without a stay or flight we took. When a page includes a first-party experience, it names the reviewer and the date. If that label is missing, treat the verdict as desk research and judge it on the sources cited.

Dating, sources and commercial labels

Numbers we publish carry a primary source and a capture or review date, or they do not appear. Affiliate links use live partners only and are labelled before the click. Partners do not write or approve editorial conclusions. Full commercial wording sits on the affiliate disclosure.
