Should you book this Phuket stay?

Where to stay in Phuket — the verdict

Book Phuket Town if you want Old Town on foot and a city base; book the coast if the trip is a beach week. These four never had POI pins in our seed — we judge them on guest prose about Old Town access, not invented kilometre tables.

All four addresses sit in Muang Phuket / Talad Yai — Chanajaroen Road, Phangnga Road, Thawornwong Road, Dibuk Road. That is one town product, not four beach belts. Novotel and Blu Monkey guest location prose both praise Old Town proximity; ibis Styles notes a 15-minute walk; The Tint names great location without POI numbers we can quote.

The seed holds no point-of-interest rows for any Phuket hotel here — landmarks arrays stay empty and we never invent km to Big Buddha, Patong or the airport. Location scores and address geography are what we have.

Cleanliness splits the sample harshly. Novotel posts 6 out of 10 on cleanliness with dirty-room prose beside a 10 on location; The Tint posts 5.94 on cleanliness with 10 on location. We cite both the number and the complaint, dated, and we never restate either as structured data.

Nothing on this page quotes a nightly rate. We hold no live rates for these properties — the CTAs send you to Booking.com, Agoda, Trip.com or Vrbo so you see the real number for your dates. Those are partners; the links may earn commission.

Best for

  • Travellers who want Old Town Phuket before or after a beach leg
  • Anyone comparing a five-star Novotel against budget ibis and Tint stock on the same town map
  • Readers who accept town hotels without supplier POI distance tables

Not for

  • Beach-resort weeks — these are Phuket Town addresses, not Patong doorstep stock
  • Anyone who needs landmark kilometre pins; this seed has none
  • Guests who will not tolerate cleanliness complaints at any price band — two of four carry sharp ones

Best Hotels in Phuket

Most Phuket bookings chase beaches. These four are for Phuket Town and Old Town — Sino-Portuguese streets, weekend markets and a city bed before you head to the coast. Do not treat them as interchangeable with Patong or Kata stock.

Where to stay in Phuket: best areas by trip type

Pick the area before you pick the property. In Phuket the walk out of the front door decides more of the trip than the room does.

Old Town core

Typical nightly rate: Budget three-star through five-star Novotel — widest band in this sample per night

Best for first-time visitors · couples · tight budgets

The Sino-Portuguese grid around Dibuk and Phangnga — guest prose at Novotel, Blu Monkey and The Tint calls out Old Town walking access without supplier POI distances we can quote.

Trade-off: Town hotels trade beach sunsets for street-food mornings. Cleanliness scores are uneven even when location scores hit 10.

Getting around: Plan on foot within Old Town and taxis or Grab to beaches — this is not a shuttle-to-Patong product in our data.

  • Old Town
  • Walkable streets
  • City base

Phuket Town wider

Typical nightly rate: Budget three-star — ibis Styles territory per night

Best for tight budgets · families

Chanajaroen and Thawornwong addresses slightly off the tightest Old Town core — still Muang Phuket, with ibis Styles guest prose noting a 15-minute walk to Old Town.

Trade-off: You may walk farther for the prettiest Old Town blocks. Value scores are strong; room quality prose calls the rooms basic.

Getting around: Guest data mentions free shuttle services at ibis Styles for Accor members — confirm on your dates with the partner, not from this static page.

Popular Phuket searches

Phuket hotels — common questions

Are these beach hotels?
No. All four addresses are in Phuket Town / Talad Yai — a city and Old Town base, not Patong or Kata beachfront stock. Book them for Old Town walks; book the coast for a sand week.
Why are there no landmark distances on this page?
Because the property records holds no hotel_poi rows for any of these four properties. We will not invent kilometres to Patong, the airport or Big Buddha. Location judgment comes from guest prose and location category scores only.
Which hotel is best for Old Town Phuket?
Novotel and Blu Monkey both score location 10 out of 10 in guest analysis with Old Town proximity praised — Novotel from 137 reviews as of 6 January 2026, Blu Monkey from 100 as of 24 June 2025. Read Novotel’s cleanliness score (6) before you pay five-star money.
Should I book direct or through a booking site?
It varies by property and by date, which is why we never quote a nightly rate here. Check the partner link for your dates, then check the hotel’s own site before you confirm. Booking.com, Agoda, Trip.com and Vrbo are partners; those links may earn commission.
Why do you show guest scores but never emit them as structured data?
Because the scores are not ours. Every review number on this site comes from a supplier’s aggregate. We show the supplier score plainly, attributed and dated, and we never emit it as structured data.
