Desk research: we have not visited this lounge. Airport facts were checked on JFK’s site on 17 October 2026; Aer Lingus rules come from archived copies of its own pages dated January to September 2026. Recheck before you fly.

Is the Aer Lingus lounge JFK worth it? It is in Terminal 7, not T5: who gets in, the pre-paid pass, opening hours, the planned Terminal 6 move and alternatives.

Key takeaways

Is the Aer Lingus lounge at JFK worth it?

Link to this answer

Aer Lingus flies from JFK Terminal 7, not Terminal 5, and the airport lists an Aer Lingus lounge there. It is worth using if you fly business or hold AerClub Silver, Platinum or Concierge status, and it opens at 12:45pm. Anyone can buy a pre-paid pass, though Aer Lingus’s lounge pages give no price.

JFK Airport’s airline list places Aer Lingus in Terminal 7, and the Terminal 7 page promises “premium spaces from Aer Lingus, as well as the shared Horizons T7 Lounge”. Guides that still send Aer Lingus passengers to Terminal 5 are out of date: the airport’s terminals page lists JetBlue, Cape Air and Sun Country there.

aerlingus.com could not be loaded for this update, so Aer Lingus’s own rules are cited from Wayback Machine copies of its lounge pages captured in January, August and September 2026. Airport facts come from JFK’s live site, checked on 17 October 2026.

Where is the Aer Lingus lounge at JFK, and when is it open?

Aer Lingus’s lounge page, as archived in January 2026, puts the lounge in the boarding-gate area of Terminal 7 near Gate 1, open from 12:45pm until the last departure. JFK says every Terminal 7 gate is one to five minutes’ walk from security, so the walk to boarding is short wherever your gate is.

Before 12:45pm there is no Aer Lingus lounge to wait in, according to the archived lounge page, so an early arrival means the shared Horizons T7 Lounge or the terminal itself. JFK’s Terminal 7 page lists Dunkin’, Bento sushi, the Brindle Room and a wine bar, Le Grand Comptoir, for time outside the lounges.

The same page names the other Terminal 7 airlines as Air Canada, ANA, Condor, Frontier, Kuwait, Norse and Icelandair. JFK describes the Horizons T7 Lounge as shared but does not publish who may enter, so check with your airline before counting on it.

Is Aer Lingus moving terminals at JFK?

Eventually. In May 2024 Aer Lingus chose the new Terminal 6, then expected to open to passengers in early 2026, and planned a new lounge there. As of 17 October 2026, JFK’s own terminal list still shows Aer Lingus in Terminal 7 and includes no Terminal 6, so the move has not yet happened.

Metro Airport News reported on 28 May 2024 that Aer Lingus would start flying from Terminal 6 on its first day of passenger service and would open a signature lounge with more seating than its current space. Until JFK’s listings change, plan on Terminal 7 and check the terminal shown in your booking on the day.

Older write-ups placing Aer Lingus beside JetBlue in Terminal 5 no longer match the airport’s listings either. When a guide disagrees with JFK’s airline page, trust the airport.

Who can use the Aer Lingus lounge at JFK?

On Aer Lingus-operated flights, the archived access page admits AerClub Silver, Platinum and Concierge members, Bank of Ireland Mastercard Gold Business cardholders and pre-paid pass holders; Aer Lingus’s business-class page presents the lounge as part of the business offer. Platinum and Concierge members, and the Bank of Ireland cardholders, may each bring one companion. Under-21s need an accompanying adult.

The rules come from the August 2026 copy of Aer Lingus’s access page, which also says children over two count as travel companions under the same rules as adults, payment included where it applies. Aer Lingus’s business-class lounge page, captured in September 2026, lists its Dublin, Heathrow and JFK lounges for business passengers.

Silver members’ JFK access is stated plainly, but the page gives Silver no companion allowance, so assume a Silver member’s travelling partner needs their own way in. British Airways Executive Club members are listed for the Heathrow lounge, not for JFK.

What does the Aer Lingus lounge at JFK offer?

Link to this answer

Aer Lingus describes lounge-style seating, free Wi-Fi and hot and cold food with drinks, wine and spirits. Its archived JFK listing does not mention showers, unlike its Dublin lounge, so plan to freshen up elsewhere if you need to before an overnight flight. Under-21s must be with an adult.

That description comes from the January 2026 copy of Aer Lingus’s lounge page, whose JFK entry is shorter than those for Dublin and Heathrow. Heathrow’s entry lists work pods, private meeting rooms and a rest area; JFK’s lists seating, Wi-Fi and refreshments only.

JFK itself says there are no public showers in its terminals and suggests asking your airline or card issuer about lounge facilities, on its lounges page. On an overnight crossing, a shower is more realistic on arrival: business passengers can use the Revival Lounge in Dublin’s Terminal 2 arrivals hall, covered in our Dublin lounge verdict.

Can you pay to use the Aer Lingus lounge at JFK?

Link to this answer

Yes. Aer Lingus sells a pre-paid Lounge Pass for its Heathrow and JFK lounges to any customer, added when you book online and shown with your boarding card at reception. Its lounge pages do not state a price, so check the add-on in your booking. The Dublin lounge is not available on a pre-paid pass.

The August 2026 copy of Aer Lingus’s access page describes three steps: add lounge access when booking online, print the lounge-pass email, and present it with your boarding card. Heathrow also takes card payment at reception when there is space; the page mentions no pay-on-the-day option at JFK.

Because children over two count as companions, a family of four buying passes pays for four entries. Set that total against Terminal 7’s restaurants before you add it.

What are the alternatives in and around Terminal 7?

Link to this answer

In Terminal 7 the only other lounge JFK names is the shared Horizons T7 Lounge. Priority Pass lists nothing in Terminal 7; its JFK lounges are in Terminals 1 and 4. Aer Lingus business passengers can use American Airlines lounges at US airports, but American flies from Terminal 8, a separate building linked by AirTrain.

The Priority Pass JFK listing shows lounges in Terminal 1 (Air France, Lufthansa, VIP ONE, Turkish Airlines, Primeclass and Korean Air) and Terminal 4 (Air India and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse), plus Gameway in Terminals 5 and 8 and Minute Suites in Terminals 4 and 8. None is in Terminal 7, so a Priority Pass card does not help an Aer Lingus passenger on the day.

Aer Lingus’s business-class page extends American Airlines Flagship Lounge and Admirals Club access to business passengers at US airports on Aer Lingus-operated flights. JFK’s terminals page puts American Airlines in Terminal 8 and describes the AirTrain as the link between terminals, so the perk is most useful when your day starts on an American flight there.

Verdict: is the Aer Lingus JFK lounge worth it?

Link to this answer

Business and AerClub Silver-and-above passengers should use it, arriving after it opens at 12:45pm. A pre-paid pass is worth it only for a long wait, since the lounge lists no showers. Without access, Terminal 7’s restaurants or the shared Horizons lounge are the options; Priority Pass does not help in this terminal.

The pass decision is mostly about time. If you will be inside for two hours or more, hot food and free drinks start to justify the cost; with a short wait, Terminal 7’s one-to-five-minute walk to every gate leaves little to gain.
