Which Shenzhen Bao’an lounge can you use?
Link to this answerEvery lounge is in Terminal 3 or the satellite hall north of it. Shenzhen Airlines, a Star Alliance member, runs five King Lounges, one of them for international flights. China Southern has three rooms, one above Gate 560 in the satellite. Priority Pass covers China Southern’s lounges and two airport guest lounges.
The Star Alliance lounge finder lists Shenzhen Airlines’ King Lounges and two contract lounges, while Priority Pass lists China Southern’s rooms and the airport’s guest lounges, with no overlap between the two lists. We checked both, and every other source here, on 17 October 2026.
This page replaces an older version that called the choice thin and left out the King Lounges entirely. For most travellers the real question is not whether a lounge exists, but whether it is on the right side of security and in the right building.
What lounges are at Shenzhen Bao’an?
Link to this answerShenzhen Airlines’ King Lounges are the biggest group: Halls No. 1, 2 and 3 for domestic flights in Terminal 3, an international King Lounge and one in the satellite. China Southern has two domestic rooms in T3 and one in the satellite. The airport runs International and Domestic Guest Lounges, and Star Alliance lists two contract lounges.
Hall numbers don’t map neatly to gates: Halls No. 1 and No. 3 are both by Gate 20, one floor apart, while Hall No. 2 faces Gate 52. China Southern’s two Terminal 3 rooms sit close together by Gates 321 and 327.
Priority Pass also offers spa visits at Comfort Zone near Gates 30 and 54, both 07:00–21:00, and at Legang Massage, which is before security in the food court and open 24 hours. A treatment uses one lounge visit.

Where do business and first class passengers go at Shenzhen?
Link to this answerOn Shenzhen Airlines or another Star Alliance carrier, international premium passengers use the King Lounge International opposite security lane 1, and domestic ones the King Lounge nearest their gate. China Southern First and Business passengers use its V2 lounge opposite Gate 327, or the satellite lounge above Gate 560.
The Star Alliance policy covers international First and Business passengers on member-operated flights, and notes that some members also admit domestic First and Business passengers. For Hall No. 1, the lounge finder lists showers, private rooms, desktop computers and a workstation area, alongside snacks and alcoholic drinks.
China Southern’s lounge FAQ admits First and Business ticket holders and Gold or Silver Sky Pearl members wherever it has a lounge agreement. On Priority Pass’s pages, its Terminal 3 rooms both have children’s play areas and massage chairs and admit departing passengers only.
Which Shenzhen lounges does airline status unlock?
Link to this answerStar Alliance Gold opens Shenzhen Airlines’ King Lounges on a member-operated flight, with one guest on the same flight. PhoenixMiles, which Shenzhen Airlines shares with Air China, gives Silver members the business lounge free on its international flights, and for 1,500 km on domestic ones. China Southern’s Sky Pearl elites use its lounges.
Under PhoenixMiles’ rules, Platinum members use first class lounges and Gold members business lounges, each with one guest who must fly Star Alliance that day when the member is on a Shenzhen Airlines flight. Silver members on a Shenzhen Airlines international flight enter Bao’an’s business lounge without charge.
Sky Pearl’s rules give Platinum two companions, Gold one and Silver none, on flights China Southern markets and operates. The guest must fly China Southern that day and present themselves with the member.
The Star Alliance policy also opens member-owned business lounges to holders of Air Canada’s worldwide Maple Leaf Club and United Club memberships, so those members may find a King Lounge open to them; read the conditions on that page before relying on it.
Can a credit card get you into a lounge at Shenzhen?
Link to this answerThrough the membership your card includes, not directly. The Shenzhen listings we checked show no bank-branded lounge, so Priority Pass is the usual card benefit, and it covers China Southern’s three rooms, two airport guest lounges and spa outlets. It does not include Shenzhen Airlines’ King Lounges, which follow airline rules.
Families should look closely before relying on a card. The International Guest Lounge does not admit children, so on an international departure the Priority Pass choice narrows to waiting landside at the massage outlet or finding an airline route in.
If your card offers DragonPass or LoungeKey instead, our comparison of the three programmes explains the difference; we checked only Priority Pass’s Shenzhen list.
Which Shenzhen Bao’an lounges take Priority Pass?
Link to this answerFive lounges and three spa outlets. China Southern’s V2 and V3 are on the domestic side of Terminal 3, its third room is above Gate 560 in the satellite, and the airport’s International and Domestic Guest Lounges complete the list. The international lounge does not admit children, which rules it out for families.
China Southern’s V2 opposite Gate 327 and V3 near Gate 321 allow two hours and warn that space can be restricted. The satellite lounge above Gate 560 has opening times that change by weekday, from as early as 02:30, and also allows two hours.
The International Guest Lounge near Gates 308–309 opens three hours before the first international flight. The Domestic Guest Lounge in the South West Wing runs 07:00–22:00 and admits children under two free.

Can you pay for a lounge at Shenzhen Bao’an?
Link to this answerPlaza Premium sells booked visits to China Southern’s No. 2 and No. 3 lounges and its satellite guest lounge, with the price at checkout. PhoenixMiles Silver members on domestic flights can spend 1,500 km on a King Lounge. We found no published cash price for the King Lounges or the airport’s own guest lounges.
Plaza Premium’s Shenzhen page lists those three China Southern rooms. Its satellite listing puts the lounge above Gate 560, opening 100 minutes before China Southern’s first satellite departure and closing after its last, with a two-hour visit and baggage storage.
Plaza Premium’s satellite opening time differs from Priority Pass’s weekday list, so if you are flying early, check the time on your booking confirmation rather than either directory.
Buying entry through the alliance isn’t an option either: Star Alliance’s paid entry currently sells visits only to its own lounges in Los Angeles and Rio de Janeiro.
What should you know about Shenzhen’s satellite hall?
Link to this answerIt entered service in December 2021 north of Terminal 3, and you reach it by the airport’s rapid transit after checking in and clearing security in T3. Its gates are in the 500s. Shenzhen Airlines’ satellite King Lounge is at Gate 520, and China Southern’s domestic lounge sits above Gate 560.
The Shenzhen government’s announcement gave the hall 53 boarding bridges and described it as working together with Terminal 3 through a rapid transit system. That makes it part of the same airside area, but a long way from the Terminal 3 lounges.
If your gate starts with a 5, use the satellite lounges and stay there. Travelling back to a King Lounge in Terminal 3 and then out again adds two rides to a wait that is meant to be restful.
Which Shenzhen lounge works for a long or late connection?
Link to this answerNone stays open all night airside in the lists we checked. The King Lounge International runs 06:00–23:00, and the International Guest Lounge follows the flight schedule. For a late connection, the only 24-hour Priority Pass outlet is Legang Massage, and it is landside, before security, in the food court.
On domestic routes, China Southern’s satellite lounge has the longest published hours, with closing at 23:55 most days. The King Lounge halls close between 21:00 and 22:15.
If you plan to leave the airport, our SZX to Shenzhen transfer guide compares the metro with a car, and the Shenzhen airport page covers the terminal and cross-border links.
Which Shenzhen lounge should you choose with your ticket?
Link to this answerShenzhen Airlines or Star Alliance in a premium cabin, or with Gold: the King Lounge for your side, international or domestic, or the satellite. China Southern premium or Sky Pearl: V2, V3 or the satellite room above Gate 560. Priority Pass: China Southern’s rooms or the guest lounges, minding the no-children rule internationally.
Bao’an is simple once you know your gate: 300s for international, the 500s for the satellite, and the domestic piers in between. Choose the lounge in that area, not the one with the best photos.
