United States travel guides
TravelShifu’s United States guides rewrite cards, insurance, points and travel utility for local search intent, pricing and regulations — same answer-first structure as the global library, not a find-and-replace of currency symbols.
Cards & Points
TravelShifu’s Cards & Points guides explain how to earn and spend miles without application hype: programme rules, transfer partners, sweet spots and cents-per-point maths. UK Avios readers should start at Avios start here, then the calculator, before any bank transfer. This edition currently lists 20 guides in the United States library.

Why read a United States-specific travel guide?
Because travel economics are local: card offers, consumer-protection law, departure taxes and default airports differ by country, so advice written for one market routinely misfires in another. These guides are rebuilt for the United States, not translated.
Every price in this edition is quoted in US dollars (USD), with local taxes and fees included the way local providers display them. Card and points coverage focuses on the US travel-card market — welcome bonuses, transferable points currencies and airline co-brands priced in USD. Where a global guide would quote a generic rule, the United States version names the regulation you can actually invoke: US DOT refund and denied-boarding rules, TSA programmes like PreCheck and Global Entry, and ESTA/ETA schemes Americans face abroad.
Practical logistics follow the same rule. Airport coverage starts from the airports United States travellers actually depart, connection advice uses the alliance hubs most relevant from those gateways, and seasonal guidance — school holidays, peak-fare windows, winter-sun escapes — follows the United States calendar rather than a generic northern-hemisphere template.
How are the United States guides researched and kept current?
Each guide is researched against primary United States sources — government portals, regulator pages, programme terms and live local pricing — then dated, published with a named author, and re-verified on a rolling schedule as rules and offers change.
Time-sensitive pages carry the heaviest maintenance load: visa and entry rules, loyalty-programme terms, insurance policy shapes and consumer-rights thresholds all shift during the year, and each of those pages shows its last-updated date so you can judge freshness before acting. When a rule changes materially, the United States edition is updated alongside the global one — not months later.
The commercial side is identical to the rest of TravelShifu: partner links are disclosed beside the recommendations they support, rankings are set by editors before commercial teams see them, and no partner can buy position in a comparison. If something on a United States page looks out of date against the official source, the About page routes corrections straight to the editorial desk.
