Is an Aspire Lounge worth it?

Yes if Priority Pass or another programme gets you in and you have an hour or more, because food and drink come with entry. Buying a visit outright is mainly for long waits. Rules vary more than the brand suggests: one Manchester Aspire lounge admits no children and another caps stays at three hours, so read the listing first.

Aspire is Swissport’s lounge brand. Swissport says it serves more than 6.4 million guests a year across 110 lounges in 24 countries (Swissport); its February 2026 Verona announcement gave a confirmed network of 106 including that year’s openings (Swissport news).

Aspire’s own website blocked our automated checks on 17 October 2026, so this page relies on Swissport’s pages and the Priority Pass lounge directory. We have not visited an Aspire lounge, and the hours and rules below are as Priority Pass listed them that day.

Who runs Aspire lounges, and are they all the same?

Swissport, the airport services company, runs Aspire, and it designs lounges at three levels: an everyday lifestyle lounge, a more exclusive business-class product, and a first-class product with à la carte dining. Aspire also operates lounges for airlines and alliances, so the name covers quite different rooms.

The three tiers are described on Aspire’s partner site, The Aspire Way, which also lists award-winning lounges it runs for partners, including the oneworld lounge at Incheon and an Air Canada Café at Toronto City Airport.

Club Aspire lounges at Gatwick South and Heathrow Terminal 5 appear in the portfolio of Airport Dimensions, the Collinson company behind The Club (Airport Dimensions), so do not assume they follow the same rules as a standard Aspire lounge. Priority Pass lists both (Gatwick, Heathrow).

Where are Aspire lounges in the UK?

Priority Pass lists Aspire lounges at Manchester (three), Birmingham, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Liverpool, Belfast City, Humberside and Inverness, plus Club Aspire at Gatwick and Heathrow. Opening times run from 3:30am at Birmingham and Liverpool to 10pm at Manchester’s D gates lounge, which extends to 10:30pm from 25 October 2026.

The table shows Aspire lounges as listed in Priority Pass’s UK directory on 17 October 2026. It may not include every Aspire lounge, because some may not take Priority Pass.

Two changes are due: Priority Pass says Edinburgh’s Gate 16 Aspire lounge closes permanently on 7 November 2026, and Birmingham’s Aspire South moves to 04:30–17:30 daily from 1 November 2026.

How do you get into an Aspire lounge?

Through a lounge programme such as Priority Pass or DragonPass, an airline arrangement for business-class or status passengers, or paid entry. At Verona, Swissport lists all of these and lets anyone buy entry. Access usually opens three hours before departure, and the Manchester D gates lounge also caps stays at three hours.

Swissport’s Verona announcement is the clearest operator statement of the access routes, but it does not cover UK prices. Rules vary more than the brand suggests, so read the listing for your lounge before you go.

Priority Pass shows pre-booking for several Aspire lounges, including Birmingham’s South lounge, Edinburgh’s Gate 16 lounge and Manchester Terminal 3 (Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester). Where a listing offers pre-booking, use it for peak travel dates rather than relying on a walk-in.

Which of Manchester’s three Aspire lounges suits you?

It depends on your terminal and your party. In Terminal 2, the D gates lounge opens until 10pm and sits next to the Great Northern Food Market, while the C gates lounge is upstairs opposite Gate 209 and closes at 8pm. Terminal 3’s Aspire Lounge does not admit children at all.

Directions and conditions are from Priority Pass’s listings for the D gates, C gates and Terminal 3 lounges. Both Terminal 2 lounges ask for smart casual dress, and the C gates and Terminal 3 lounges ban football shirts.

The D gates lounge lists a three-hour maximum stay and entry three hours before departure. Manchester also has Escape Lounges in Terminals 2 and 3, which Priority Pass lists too; our Manchester lounge guide compares them.

What do you get inside an Aspire lounge?

Food and drink are included. Swissport says its menus cater for vegetarians and vegans and run through the day, with local specialities. Facilities vary: the Manchester D gates listing includes air conditioning, a cold buffet and standard alcoholic drinks for over-18s, and the new Verona lounge has showers and quiet zones.

The menu description is on Swissport’s lounge hospitality page; the Manchester facility list is on Priority Pass. Swissport’s Verona announcement lists showers, quiet zones, workspaces and Wi-Fi there, with 95 seats and opening hours of 5:30am to 9pm.

Because facilities differ so much, do not assume a shower or hot food at a UK Aspire lounge; the Priority Pass listing for each lounge sets out what that room offers.

Should you pay for an Aspire lounge or use a programme?

If you fly from an Aspire airport several times a year, Priority Pass or a similar programme, or a credit card that bundles one, tends to cost less than paying each time. For one long wait, a paid visit is fine. We could not confirm UK walk-in prices because Aspire’s site blocked us, so compare the final total before paying.

Swissport points lounge bookings to ExecutiveLounges.com (Swissport), which redirected us to Aspire’s site and was blocked in the same way. The only operator price we could confirm is Verona’s €42 entry (Swissport news).

How does Aspire compare with Escape and No1 at UK airports?

At Manchester and Edinburgh, Aspire competes with Escape Lounges, and at Birmingham with No1 Lounge and Clubrooms, all on Priority Pass. Choose by gate, hours and rules rather than brand: Manchester Terminal 2’s Escape opens from 3am, earlier than either Aspire lounge there, while Edinburgh’s Escape stays open until 10pm.

Priority Pass lists Escape Lounges in Manchester Terminals 2 and 3 and at Edinburgh, plus No1 Lounge Birmingham and Clubrooms Birmingham, the latter with an extra fee (Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham).

Who should use Aspire lounges?

Priority Pass members and other programme holders at Aspire airports should use them when they have an hour or more. Families should check the children rule first, as Manchester’s Terminal 3 lounge does not admit children. Pay only when a delay leaves you hours to fill; for a short wait, the terminal will do.
