We have not used the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. This page is desk research from Singapore Airlines’ own pages, checked 17 October 2026, and the Terminal 2 rebuild dates in particular may move.

Is the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge worth it?
Link to this answerIf you hold KrisFlyer Elite Gold or Star Alliance Gold and are flying economy or premium economy from Changi, yes: it costs nothing, opens around the clock and, in Terminal 3, has its own showers. Just do not expect a business-class lounge, and note that Terminal 2’s version is the older, plainer one.
Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer Gold Lounge page describes a lounge for KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold customers at Changi Terminals 2 and 3, and nowhere else. It is the airline’s answer for status holders who did not buy a premium ticket: hot food and drinks in a separate room, rather than a seat in the SilverKris Lounge.
The Terminal 3 lounge was rebuilt in 2022. The airline’s backgrounder says it moved to its own area, doubled in floor space and now holds up to 350 guests, with high ceilings, skylights and a view of the runway. Terminal 2’s lounge is next in line: the April 2025 release promises double the capacity plus in-lounge restrooms and shower suites.
Who gets into the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, and can you bring a guest?
Link to this answerKrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members leaving Changi in premium economy or economy, on Singapore Airlines or another Star Alliance airline. Each may bring one guest departing on the same flight. Flying business, or holding PPS Club on a Singapore Airlines flight, sends you to SilverKris instead, and Scoot flights earn no lounge access.
The access table is the source for each row below, and its footnotes add two limits: entitlement depends on your immediate departing Singapore Airlines or Star Alliance flight, and a codeshare follows the operating airline’s rules. The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge page says the same about codeshares and Scoot.
Elsewhere, Gold in economy works differently. At other airports with a SilverKris lounge, the table sends Gold members flying economy to the business-class SilverKris Lounge, and at partner airports Singapore Airlines’ partner table gives them the business-class lounge too. Changi is the one place where Gold in economy means a separate status lounge.

Where are the two KrisFlyer Gold Lounges at Changi?
Link to this answerBoth are on level 3, after immigration. Terminal 3’s is near Central Immigration on the way to the A gates, in its own space apart from SilverKris. Terminal 2’s sits nearer the E gates. Singapore Airlines lists both as open 24 hours, but lists showers and a baby care room only in Terminal 3.
Locations and hours are from the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge page, which gives Terminal 3 as “Level 3 (Near Central Immigration towards Gates A)” and Terminal 2 as “Level 3 (Nearer to Gates E)”. Which one you use follows your check-in terminal; Singapore Airlines’ check-in page puts flights to South-east Asia, Japan except SQ12, South Korea, Dhaka, Malé, Kathmandu and Colombo in Terminal 2.
If you are connecting at Changi rather than starting there, your lounge follows your onward Singapore Airlines or Star Alliance flight, since the access table ties entitlement to your immediate departure.
What does the lounge offer, and what is missing?
Link to this answerHot food, snacks and drinks, Wi-Fi and TV in both; toilets, showers and baby care in Terminal 3 only. Singapore Airlines’ 2022 description adds laksa, chwee kueh and steamed dim sum, open work areas with charging points and a runway view. It lists no staffed bar or rest area, both of which SilverKris has.
The backgrounder describes three lighting structures inspired by flight paths, USB and universal charging points, wireless charging pads in some areas, and food including fruit, salads, sandwiches and muffins alongside the local dishes. It also confirms dedicated restrooms, showers, an accessible shower and a baby care room in Terminal 3.
The current lounge page lists facilities as “Selection of warm food, light snacks and beverages”, Wi-Fi, TV, toilets and showers (Terminal 3 only) and a baby care room (Terminal 3 only). Compare that with the SilverKris page, which lists barista and bartender service and a rest area for the Terminal 3 SilverKris Lounge.
Does it matter whether you leave from Terminal 3 or Terminal 2?
Link to this answerYes. You use the lounge in your departure terminal, and today the two differ. Terminal 3’s was rebuilt in 2022 at twice its old size and has showers. Terminal 2’s has no showers on the airline’s list; its rebuild was due to start in the first half of 2026, with completion expected in 2027.
Singapore Airlines’ April 2025 release scheduled construction of the new Terminal 2 KrisFlyer Gold Lounge for the first half of 2026, as the last of three phases, with the whole programme finishing around mid-2027. SilverKris said in November 2025 that the business-class and KrisFlyer Gold lounges would follow in 2027. We found no newer date on the airline’s pages.
In practice, a Gold member flying economy to Bangkok, Jakarta or Tokyo will usually see the Terminal 2 lounge, and one flying to Europe, Australia or the United States will see Terminal 3’s. If a shower matters before a long flight, that split decides how early to arrive.
Already Gold: when is the lounge worth arriving early for?
Link to this answerBefore a long economy flight from Terminal 3, a shower and a hot meal justify getting to the airport early. Before a short regional hop from Terminal 2, the lounge is still free, but without showers it adds little beyond a seat and a plate, so arrive at your usual time. At Changi, Gold never upgrades you to SilverKris.
Bring your guest only if they are on your flight: the access table allows one guest departing on the same flight. A partner on a different flight, even a Star Alliance one, does not qualify under Singapore Airlines’ wording.
Long layovers have a ceiling too. Singapore Airlines’ check-in guidance says Changi admits departing passengers to the transit area only in the 24 hours before their flight, which limits how early you can settle in if you leave the airport between flights.
Can you pay, or use Priority Pass, instead?
Link to this answerNo paid entry is offered on Singapore Airlines’ lounge pages, and the access table lists status as the only route for economy passengers. Priority Pass members have three listed lounges in Terminal 3 and two in Terminal 2, all shown as open 24 hours. Those are an alternative, not a back door into this lounge.
The Priority Pass Changi listing names them: Ambassador Transit Lounge, SATS Premier Lounge and Marhaba Lounge in Terminal 3; Ambassador Transit Lounge and SATS Premier Lounge in Terminal 2. Terminal 1 and Terminal 4 have their own listed lounges, and the Changi Lounge in Jewel opens 06:00–22:00.
For a Gold member, a Priority Pass lounge matters mainly when travelling with more than one companion, since the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge admits one guest per member. For a non-member in economy, it is the main lounge route at Changi.

Is it worth chasing KrisFlyer Elite Gold for this lounge?
Link to this answerOnly as part of a bigger package. Singapore Airlines awards Elite Gold for 50,000 Elite miles in 12 consecutive months, and the tier also brings Star Alliance lounges worldwide, priority baggage handling and free Forward Zone seats in economy. For lounge access alone, compare it with what a Priority Pass membership would cost you.
The tier benefits are on the KrisFlyer page; Elite Silver, at 25,000 Elite miles, lists priority check-in and boarding and extra baggage but no lounge access. Our KrisFlyer guide covers earning Elite miles, and points versus Priority Pass sets out the general trade-off.
Any Star Alliance Gold tier gets you the same Changi lounge, so if another programme in the alliance is easier for you to reach Gold in, that works too. See our Star Alliance lounge comparison for what Gold opens elsewhere.
What this page is based on
Link to this answerSingapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, SilverKris, KrisFlyer and check-in pages, its Changi access table and partner access table, the 2022 Terminal 3 backgrounder, the April 2025 Terminal 2 release, the airline magazine’s November 2025 update, and Priority Pass’s Changi page. We have not visited and do not rate the lounge.
We checked every page linked on this page on 17 October 2026. The access table is marked accurate as of 18 June 2024, and the Terminal 2 rebuild dates come from 2025 announcements, so they are the details most likely to move.
We left out any comparison of food quality or how busy the lounge gets, because Singapore Airlines publishes neither.
