Is the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge worth it?

Yes at Changi Terminal 3, where the business-class section seats more than 570 people and has the airline’s largest buffet, a staffed bar, a rest area and en-suite showers. Terminal 2’s SilverKris Lounge is open but due for rebuilding, and overseas the SilverKris name covers rooms with shorter facility lists, several open only in set windows.

Singapore Airlines’ SilverKris page lists the Terminal 3 lounge on level 3, nearer the A gates, and the Terminal 2 lounge on level 3, nearer the E gates, both after immigration and both open 24 hours. Terminal 3’s facility list includes warm food, barista and bartender service, a rest area, a meeting room, a play room, showers with accessible options and a baby care room.

The airline’s 2022 backgrounder explains the scale: the business-class section is larger than The Private Room and the first-class section combined, with room for over 570 customers in four zones. Will you use the Terminal 3 or the Terminal 2 SilverKris Lounge?

The one in the terminal your flight checks in at. Singapore Airlines handles flights to South-east Asia, Japan, South Korea, Dhaka, Malé, Kathmandu and Colombo at Terminal 2, except SQ12 to Los Angeles via Tokyo; all its other routes use Terminal 3. A Bangkok or Tokyo business ticket therefore usually means Terminal 2.

The terminal split is on Singapore Airlines’ airport check-in page. It matters because the two lounges are not equal today: the Terminal 2 lounge has been under progressive renovation since April 2025, according to the SilverKris page, which says it remains open while work continues.

The April 2025 release describes what Terminal 2 will get: a business-class lounge 30% larger, a quiet rest area with recliners, wingback chairs, sofas and productivity pods, an expanded Asian and Western buffet, and a new full-service bar. SilverKris dates the new business-class lounge to 2027, after the first-class lounge that opened in November 2025.

Until then, the airline lists the current Terminal 2 lounge’s facilities as warm food and light snacks, Wi-Fi, meeting rooms, TV, restrooms, a shower and a nursing room. That is enough for a meal before a regional flight, not a reason to arrive early.

Who can use the Business Class SilverKris Lounge?

Business-class passengers on Singapore Airlines or another Star Alliance airline, PPS Club members in any Singapore Airlines cabin, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold or Star Alliance Gold members flying business. Status holders can bring one guest on the same flight; a business ticket alone carries no guest. Scoot flights do not qualify.

The rules come from Singapore Airlines’ access table, marked accurate as of 18 June 2024, and apply to your immediate departing Singapore Airlines or Star Alliance flight. On codeshares, the SilverKris page says access follows the rules of the airline operating the flight, and it warns that lounge staff may ask for extra proof of PPS Club membership.

PPS Club status needs 25,000 PPS Value, earned in Suites, First or Business as a KrisFlyer member, and Singapore Airlines lists “the Business Class area of the SilverKris Lounge” among its benefits. Our guest rules guide covers how guest allowances work more generally.

What is inside the Terminal 3 business-class section?

Four zones: a rest area with 14 chaise longues in a semi-enclosed space, a living room with wingback chairs and productivity pods, a dining hall for close to 200, and a courtyard-style corner for light bites. Add a barista in the morning and a bartender in the evening, en-suite showers, a six-person meeting room and baby care.

The backgrounder calls the buffet the largest self-service spread in any Singapore Airlines lounge, with international and Asian dishes such as pasta aglio olio, mee siam and nasi lemak. The bar faces the runway. Productivity pods come with a reading light, wireless charging and USB and universal sockets, and there are two restroom areas plus en-suite showers, accessible showers and a baby care room.

The launch release adds that the business-class section grew by 20% in the 2022 rebuild. The backgrounder mentions no live cooking station or day rooms for this section, both of which it describes in the first-class rooms; the rest area’s chaise longues are the nearest thing to a nap.

What are SilverKris lounges like outside Singapore?

Simpler, and several open only in set windows each day. The airline lists SilverKris lounges at Bangkok, Brisbane, Hong Kong, London Heathrow, Melbourne, Perth, Seoul Incheon, Sydney and Taipei. Only Hong Kong, London, Melbourne and Sydney have a first-class section, and Taipei’s lounge closes after 31 October 2026.

All of these locations and hours are from Singapore Airlines’ SilverKris page. From 1 November 2026, the airline says business-class passengers and PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold members leaving Taipei Taoyuan on its own flights will be invited to the Plaza Premium Lounge on Terminal 2, Level 4, instead.

The access table still names Manila among SilverKris locations, but the current lounge page does not, so we have not listed it. Away from Singapore, KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members in economy are sent to the business-class SilverKris lounge, because the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge exists only at Changi.

Already eligible: how much time is the Changi lounge worth?

At Terminal 3, plan on a sit-down meal at least: the buffet, the bar and an en-suite shower are what lift it above a café. On a short connection, the courtyard area is designed for a quick bite. In Terminal 2, expect a plainer lounge until the rebuild finishes, and arrive at a normal time.

If you hold Solitaire PPS Club status, skip this section of the complex: the access table assigns you the First Class SilverKris Lounge in any Singapore Airlines cabin. Gold members flying business are assigned here rather than to the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

For a long Changi layover, the rest area’s chaise longues are the closest thing to sleep in the business-class section, since the backgrounder lists day rooms only in the first-class rooms. Changi lets departing passengers into the transit area no earlier than 24 hours before their flight, per Singapore Airlines’ check-in page.

Can you pay for the SilverKris Lounge or use Priority Pass?

Singapore Airlines publishes no paid entry, and Priority Pass does not list the SilverKris Lounge. At Changi, Priority Pass lists the Ambassador Transit Lounge, SATS Premier Lounge and Marhaba Lounge in Terminal 3, and Ambassador Transit and SATS Premier lounges in Terminal 2, all shown as open around the clock.

The Priority Pass Changi page also lists a Changi Lounge in Jewel, open 06:00–22:00, plus restaurant credits and spas in several terminals. Its Terminal 3 lounges are the ones to compare with SilverKris if you are flying economy with a lounge card.

None of these is an airline lounge, and none admits you to SilverKris. If you fly Singapore Airlines business often enough, PPS Club is what keeps SilverKris access when you drop to economy.

Flying economy without status: what should you do instead?

Use a Priority Pass lounge if you have membership, or wait in the terminal. If you hold KrisFlyer Elite Gold or another Star Alliance Gold card, your lounge in economy is the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, which Singapore Airlines describes as a short walk from the SilverKris complex in Terminal 3.
